The Manifesto site is set up using Wordpress, a basic blogging tool, so if you’ve used a blog before, this will be straightforward.

This is a public blog; the idea is for people to join and engage as much as possible - post links to articles you find of interest, events that would be interesting, and so on. Posting is easy:

1. To post you need to register - just click on the link on the top right and input your details; you will receive a password by email, which you can then use to log in.

2. Once logged in, you can add posts, add comments, amend posts you’ve made, etc.  Choose ‘Write’ from the tabs along the top of the page, give your post a title (keep it short), write what you like in the post section (you can add links etc as on any other blog), add tags to your post (ie. key words that will help identify what you are writing about eg. ‘nuclear’ or ‘Senegal’), choose where on the site you want your post to appear (ie. choose a category - general news, africa posts, africa events, scotland posts, scotland events).

3. Hit ‘Publish’ on the right hand side of the page, and that’s it, your post will be added.

4. You can add comments to posts (your own or other people’s, which is great for starting conversations, discussing ideas, planning events) by clicking on the ‘Comments’ link under the relevant post on the website.  You need to be logged in to add a comment.

[USEFUL TIP: If you are including a link, in the link options choose to open the link in a new window.]

The blog will not be heavily policed; it would be great to have a healthy, free flow of ideas and suggestions.  If you spot something on the site you feel is inappropriate please email Phil here.

Finally, spread the word - let other people know about the site!
